Responding to music echo of world today that returned literate with boyband music, one of the famous music online media RollingStone.com created a poll for readers to choose who 10 Boy Band have deserved the title as Best Boy Bands of All Time. In the poll, appeared the names of the boy band that ever existed in the history of the music industry such as Backstreet Boys, Take That, NSYNC, The Jackon, Jonas Brothers to The Beatles. Here are top 10 legendary boy bands in the world:
- Backstreet Boys
Backstreet Boys (BSB) is a boyband from Orlando, Florida, USA. Backstreet Boys had been in the musical industry for 18 years, from 1993 - present. Backstreet Boys is the world's best-selling boy band of all time. Boyband who was booming in the 90s, finally able to record the highest album sales of 130 million copies worldwide.
- The Jackson 5
The Jackson 5 or also known as The Jackson is a musical group from Indiana, USA. Boyband consisting of Michael Jackson and his brothers from the Jackson family is active in the music for 26 years from 1964-1990. Until now, The Jackson 5 has released 16 albums and recorded sales of 100 million copies worldwide. Some of the popular songs in 1970 include I'll Be There, ABC, and I Want You Back.
- New Kids On The Block
New Kids On The Block (NKOTB) from Boston, Massachusetts, USA, was formed in 1984 and was very successful in the late 80s and early 90s, but fell out in 1994. 2007, NKOTB decided to return and released an album in 2008. - The Osmonds
The Osmonds is an America brother musical group in 1953. The group is still on the music world and until now it has released 20 albums and record sales of 77 million copies worldwide. One of the popular songs is Love Me for a Reason that also popularized by Boyzone in 1994.
- Bay City Rollers
Originated in England and popular in 1970, Bay City Rollers had launched 12 albums and active in the musical field for 15 years (1966-1981). Late 1975, Bay City Rollers, recorded as one of the groups with the highest selling album in the UK. Bay City Rollers is also touted as the largest group after the Beatles. - The Monkees
An American music group The Monkees established in 1966. The boy band had reached the peak of its popularity in the years 1966-1968, and an inspiration for many artists in the era. Having career for 10 years ever broke up several times, and last released an album in 2002. - Take That
Take That is a British boy band established in 1990. The boy band originally consisted of 5, but in 1995, Robie Williams one of its personnel out for solo singer. Until now Take That has released 6 albums and record sales of 40 million album copies worldwide. Their popular songs are Back for Good, Sure, Never Forget, Everything, Changes, How Deep is Your Love.
- New Edition
The group which was established in 1978 and consists of Bobby Brown (ex-husband Witney Houston), Ronnie DeVoe, Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins, and Ralph Tresvant reached its heyday in the 80s. One single flagship that had become hits is "Cool It Now" which was officially released in 1985. The boy band is touted as a group who paved the way for the emergence of another boyband like New Kids on the Block, Backstreet Boys, and Nsync.
